Viruses and The Immune System
Alright alright alright! Haven’t typed in a while and finally found some free time to write this weeks blog about viruses and the immune system. I know that viruses are a hot topic in this world the last year and a half and I will mention in the bonus section about my experience clinically with that (hopefully I don’t get censored and lose my license lol), but viruses have been around forever and my goal in this blog is that you understand how to deal with them when you need to.
So first off, there are acute viruses like the flu, common cold, covid and rsv etc. and chronic viruses like Epstein Barr (the virus that causes mono), herpes, CMV among others. The chronic ones are the ones that cause more issues than you realize like headaches, arthritis, chronic fatigue, cancer, and gut issues. Once in your system, they can linger and go dormant which then come out in times of stress although I have seen people completely get rid of these viruses (even though there are docs out there that think its impossible). Then there are the acute viruses like the common cold, flu and covid that do their thing and your body fights them off in 2 weeks or sooner. Technically, these viruses are contagious for about 14 days after symptoms appear in my experience and out of your system in about 21 days. When it comes to these two types of viruses, I treat them clinically similar but different. The chronic ones are obviously more of a battle compared to weaker acute viruses so the herbs and protocols I do with patients do vary slightly although some things can be the same. All the viruses basically hijack your cells and use your own cellular material to reproduce themselves. They then spread rapidly throughout your system like a virus in a computer. So the sicker you are as a person, the better the environment is for viruses to reproduce.
Okay, the biggest take away that I want you to get from this blog is that there are viruses EVERYWHERE all day long and our immune systems fight them off all the time. So I want to bring to your attention a component of the immune system that I will simplify Immensely so that it lands for you. This component consists of two types of cells in the immune system, TH1 and TH2. It is this balance that essentially makes up how good your immune system is. They are on a teeter totter so if one is up the other is more than likely down. In a nutshell, TH1 helps us fight off viruses (as well as bacteria and fungus/yeast) whereas TH2 helps us fight off parasites. So to fight off viruses, you want to have a very adequate TH1 response when needed. And here is the kicker, AS A GENERAL RULE OUR WORLD LIVES IN A TH2 DOMINANT STATE (especially in the US). This means our TH1 response is low and our ability to fight off viruses is diminished. There are exceptions to this rule obviously but its about every 7-8 out of 10 patients I see are TH2 dominant.
What that means from a symptom picture is TH2 affects hollow space organs and skin. So that would be gut issues, bladder issues, sinus issues, rashes and lots of allergies/mucus production. Sound like anyone you know? And how do we get into this high TH2 state you ask….living the good life as they say. No sleep, caffeine consumption, alcohol consumption, eating food sensitivities…STRESS basically is the number one cause of pushing your immune system into a TH2 dominant state. Other nutrients besides caffeine that pushes you further into a TH2 pattern are things like juicing and lots of berry consumption (antioxidants from fruits like blueberries can promote TH2 etc.). That’s why I am not as big of a fan of overdoing fruits and veggies like people would assume I am and more so IF THEY ARE JUICED, DRIED OR FROZEN. The two medications that push people into a TH2 state is steroid/inhaler usage and antibiotic usage….two of the most prescribed meds out there. Antibiotics lead to chronic fungus overgrowth in your gut and fungus is a huge promoter of TH2 dominance. They also say that steroid/inhaler use can actually hardwire into your system a TH2 response so that you can never get out of it….yikes. So they give you a steroid inhaler when you have allergies or lung issues which can provide temporary relief at best just so that 6 months down the road you get another allergy attack because now your hardwired into that TH2 state and the vicious circle continues leading to people using anti-histamines that then shut down your stomach acid leading to more allergies etc…didn’t I tell you that much of my day is fixing medically induces problems with patients that have gone to every hospital and specialist around the country?
So basically structural, chemical and emotional stress is what pushes people into this pattern that you don’t want to be in if your trying to fight off viruses. The stress hormone cortisol is a huge promoter of TH2 dominance. So high stress hormone equals TH2 dominance. You can read more about that hormone in my hormone blog found here.
So how do we increase our TH1 response to balance out our TH2 dominant lifestyles because there are no medications that really take care of viruses, which is why western medicine struggles with viral patients often times, that is the golden question here. Well first, you need to limit as much toxic stress in your life as possible. Get off the caffeine and weekend warrior alcohol lifestyle…YOU WILL BREAK DOWN OVER TIME, THAT I PROMISE YOU. Get restful sleep in a dark cold room with no lights on in the room. If your room is not extremely dark, your body doesn’t release the sleep hormone melatonin, which is a TH1 PROMOTER! Melatonin decreases high cortisol thus promoting that TH1 response. Get good exercise a few times a week but don’t over train…. overtraining turns into toxic stress and increased TH2 patterns. Also, foods are crucial as usual. The three main food groups I have every virus patient avoid are RICE, NUTS/SEEDS AND CHOCOLATE. This is because they are very high in the amino acid arginine, which gives viruses the chance to replicate. This cycle is broken by the amino acid lysine which I will talk about when I talk about the supplements I use for viruses etc. On top of those three foods….caffeine, gluten, dairy, corn, soy and oats are also viral feeders….sounds familiar if you read my food blog found here.
And on top of living a better non-toxic anti-inflammatory lifestyle to balance my TH1 and TH2, what other nutrients can I supplement with that promote that TH1 response that I need to combat viruses in my body?
From a vitamin and mineral standpoint, you need adequate vitamin A, C, D,E, selenium and zinc. All of these are found in Vervita Immune Rmor along with some other TH1 promoters like Echinacea. This supplement also contains buckwheat and lysine which stop viral replication at the cellular level. That supplement right there is what most of my patients also take as immune support year round to help prevent any viral infections in the first place and not just when they have a virus.
Now from an herbal standpoint, besides the Echinacea listed above, the most common herbs I use are Berberine found in Goldenthread Supreme, Baicalin found in Scutellaria Supreme and Astragalus in Astragalus Supreme. I use these more for the chronic viruses but they have tested well for acute viruses in patients often times. These three herbs promote a TH1 response when taken orally. Eating Ginger and broccoli (better to get more potent extracts of broccoli for the sulforaphane content) also promote TH1.
So if you want just a good overall supplement for the immune system that promotes a TH1 response, Vervita Immune Rmor would be your best choice. And if I described you up above when describing what a TH2 dominant patient has symptom wise, add in those three herbs to help your allergies, gut, sinuses and viruses etc. Doing these supplements with the lifestyle changes mentioned above will change your life.
BONUS SECTION ON COVID:
So lets just get this out of the way. In reality, we don’t have a virus issue but more so we have a sick population that can’t handle a virus issue. Change the host and you change the problem. But you never see true health promoting advice on your TV sets. You see a false hope vaccine being pushed to “get back to normal” while your being bribed with free JUNK FOOD that contributed to getting this country in this mess in the first place. If you can’t see that, then covid is the least of your worries. And I’ll take it a step further, if the world wasn’t ran by government and big pharma we would have gotten out of this mess by now because anything that showed promise in treatment was called quackery and we needed years of trials to prove it worked before authorized to be used….well if that were true then this Non FDA approved va$$ine wouldn’t have made it to the market…..but follow the money and you will get your answer. If the government and pharma truly cared then anything that showed promise even in 10 people would have been tried if this pandemic was really as bad as they tell you it is. Hell, even if 1 person got well then that therapy should have been top priority in giving it to more people to see if it truly delivered and not be censored and bashed. Do you get that? Put aside polarized political thinking for one second and think logically. A patient cured is a customer lost. And if you think that the va$$ine is a cure in their eyes, your sadly mistaken. You will be pressured to get booster shots the rest of your life each year like a flu shot (but even more intense). And the fear that has been instilled will have people lining up thinking they are doing what is best for them and the people around them. Corona viruses die out in a population in about 1.5 years which would be right around the time I am writing this blog. That is unless you introduce a va$$ine that allows the pathogen to morph and create variants. Remember SARS? Well that was a much deadlier corona virus that died out naturally without a va$$ine and now you never hear about it. Think about that when those covid booster shots are pushed on you for the rest of eternity.
Now more about the virus. Here is the main take away….the reason our medical system has failed is because THE VIRUS ACTS AS A PARASITE AND NOT A VIRUS. This is why if people took hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin instead of ventilators and all the garbage treatments they have pushed then the slim amount of people that died or struggled would have more likely than not had different outcomes. Those two drugs are anti-parasitic drugs and every patient that I saw that had covid tested as though they had a parasite, not a virus. And parasites push you further into a TH2 pattern which leads to LUNG INFLAMMATION and mucus production leading to hard to breathe symptoms. The doctors who were censored and shamed used hydroxy and zinc (a TH1 promoter) with great success. And one of my patients got their hands on ivermectin and brought it in for me to test with my methods and it tested very well. So since you can’t really get hydroxy or ivermectin then here is an herb that tested similar in my testing…Japanese Knotweed. This herb is high in resveratrol, which I use for parasites and viruses. Japanese Knotweed Supreme is my source of choice and the one that came in second place was Mimosa Supreme, another anti-parasitic herb. In third and fourth place were Houttuynia Supreme and Scutellaria Supreme, respectively.
The last thing I will leave you off with is this. On top of treating people as though they had a parasite and not a virus, GIVING OUT FREE GOOD SOURCED VITAMIN D would have changed everything as well. When it’s all said and done, I think covid will be exposed as a vitamin D deficiency similar to measles being a vitamin A deficiency (which is something you probably have never heard before).
